The Minottek Gated Shifter kit is the ultimate representation of what would happen if the NA 5 speed transmission was perfected and reinvented with the stylings of an Italian-inspired gated shifter. The factory shifter geometry is retained and refined, featuring a proprietary 20mm extended CNC stainless steel shifter paired with a brass lower bushing and the elimination of the NA crescent fulcrum bushing (later removed on the NB) to ensure the most precise shifts possible.

The beautiful subtle dome of the brushed stainless steel gated top plate accompanied by the bespoke nylon center console trim blends effortlessly with the factory NA Miata interior design while becoming a true visual center piece.

Every bolt, washer, and factory dust boot is accounted for and included with additional insulation making the Minottek Gated Shifter kit a 100% bolt-on ready to use package with the promise of delivering the special driving experience of a gated shifter to the Miata.

Awesome Shifter, Even Better customer service

Long story short, there was a miscommunication in shipping and Ryan made sure to correct it. If I could give 6 stars for customer service I would. As for the shifter itself that's also 6 star product. Took me a while to write this cause I wanted to drive it for a few hundred miles first. Install was a breeze. The only thing i would recommend is use a little bit of loctite on the 3 screws that mount to the turret. I didn't do it the first time around and they vibrated themselves loose. After the loctite 0 problems at all. Keep doing what you're doing Ryan, I look forward to seeing and buying more products engineered by you.

I've wanted a gated shifter for my '90 NA since shortly after I bought it in 2005.
The Minottek shifter kit is the answer to my wishes. The kit is complete and even comes with a hex wrench to aid in installation. The instructions are very clear and I had no trouble installing the shifter.
It shifts like a dream. It is a very worthwhile investment for making the Miata experience even better.

Each part of the kit was conceptualized, prototyped, and test fit on Griffin’s NA. During the prototype phase, Griffin kindly put the Gated Shifter kit through some light drift testing to ensure the shifter would hold up under the subsequent driveline torture of a prepped drift/street car.
